All Things Halloween Fun! 🎃

I love hosting parties, and I look forward to any excuse to get creative at home. This year, as I plan our traditional Halloween celebration, I thought I’d share the activities I’m designing to keep the little ones entertained.

So (drumroll please…), I’m super excited to introduce you to my Halloween Activity Pack! Inside, you’ll find everything you need to throw a fun party — from DIY placemats that double as activities and cute decorations, to puzzles, mazes, tracing, counting pages, DIY cupcake toppers, and games kids can enjoy together.

This printable is extra special because it features the characters from my upcoming book (coming in 2026)!

A Not-So-Spooky Halloween Idea: The Monster Door

Now, let me tell you about one of my favorite Halloween decorations of all time: the Monster Door! I discovered this idea years ago in Parents magazine, and it was a total success. The best part? It’s not scary at all—just fun, colorful, and full of Halloween spirit. Perfect for younger kids!

As you can see from the picture, I use whatever materials I have on hand. I love using paper plates and leftover wrapping paper, and I let the kids make it as silly or as scary as they want. I love this idea because the door evolves as the kids grow up.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Big sheets of colored paper (white for eyes, black for pupils, any fun colors for hair, teeth, or eyebrows)

  • Painter’s tape (so it comes off easily)

  • Scissors

Steps:

  1. Cut out two giant monster eyes and stick them near the top of your door. (I used paper plates.)

  2. Add a big mouth with teeth—triangles work great for fangs.

  3. Optional: Add eyebrows, funny hair, or even silly ears on the sides.

  4. Stand back and admire your friendly monster!

It’s such a fun craft to do with your kids—and it instantly brings Halloween cheer to your home.

Have You Ever Been “BOO-ed”? 👻 (Free Printable!)

One of our favorite Halloween traditions is BOO-ing the neighbors! If you’ve never heard of it, here’s how it works:

  • You secretly leave a small Halloween treat on a neighbor’s doorstep—like candy, stickers, or a little toy.

  • Along with the treat, you include a note that says “You’ve been BOO-ed!” and instructions so they can keep the fun going.

  • The family who receives it then puts up a little sign on their door or window to show they’ve already been BOO-ed, and they “BOO” two more neighbors.

It’s like a chain of Halloween kindness that spreads through the neighborhood. Kids especially love the surprise and the silliness of sneaking up to a friend’s house to leave a treat.

To make it super easy, I designed a free BOO-ing printable that you can use! Just print, cut, and deliver it with your treat. 🎃

Kids can color it, hang it, and join in on a little Halloween magic. 🎃

Have a fun Halloween season! 🎃
