Are Kids Too Young to Practice Self-Awareness? 🤔

And just like that, 2025 is over!

After a lovely holiday break, we’re all back in our routines. And I’m back to work, looking forward to a year full of possibilities.

The house is quiet, and my thoughts are loud… ha ha. As I plan the upcoming year, I’ve been thinking a lot about goals, dreams, and what is truly important to me.

This year, I’m focusing on one word: create. I’m excited to learn, enjoy my family, and work toward a life I truly love. I’ll do my best not to sweat the small stuff and to add a little more flexibility to my days. I’m sure it won’t always be easy, but as long as I’m moving in the right direction, I’ll call it a success. As they say, awareness is almost half the battle.

One thing I know for sure is that the more I learn about myself, the easier it is to see what matters most to me and where I want to go.

I believe this is true for children as well. The better they can identify and name their feelings, notice what their bodies are telling them, and recognize their triggers, the more prepared they’ll be for everyday life as they grow. I don’t think it’s ever too early to start practicing self-awareness. And yes, this can even help them set simple goals if they want to. ☺️

So, I’ve created a few activity pages you can print at home to support this skill. These activities are perfect for children ages 2 through second grade.

I’ve also designed a sweet “resolutions” page you can do with your kids. It is never too late to do this. Tiny steps count. They really do! This activity is meant to be fun and pressure-free. If you’d like more info, you can read it here.

I’m excited to share fun projects and books with you this year. Here’s to a creative year ahead, filled with learning, peace, and love.

Until next time,
Monica
